Product Disclaimer and Skin Safety Information

Please read this before using any Miso product. It explains what our products are, what they are not, how to use them safely, and what to do if your skin reacts.

1. Our products are cosmetics, not medicines

Miso products are cosmetic products for external use on the skin. They are not medicines, medical devices or treatments.

They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical condition, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis or any other skin condition. If you have a diagnosed skin condition, speak to your GP, pharmacist or dermatologist before using any new product.

2. Nothing on our site is medical advice

Everything we publish, including product pages, articles, emails, social media posts and customer reviews, is general information only. It is not personalised medical or dermatological advice and must not be treated as a substitute for consulting a qualified healthcare professional.

Never delay seeking or disregard professional medical advice because of something you read on our site. If you have a health concern, see a doctor.

3. Results vary, and we do not promise a specific outcome

Skin is individual. Age, skin type, hormones, medication, climate, diet, sleep, stress and the other products you use all affect what you see.

Any before and after photographs, customer reviews, percentages or testimonials on our site show individual experiences. They are not a guarantee that you will get the same result. Percentages quoted from customer panels reflect what those participants reported and are not clinical trial data unless we state otherwise and cite the study.

4. Patch test first. This is important.

We ask every customer to patch test before first use, and before returning to the product after a long gap:

  • Apply a small amount to a discreet area, for example the inner forearm or behind the ear
  • Leave it for 24 hours
  • If there is no redness, itching, stinging, swelling or rash, you can use it on your face
  • If there is any reaction, do not use the product, and contact us for a refund

5. Who should not use our products

Do not use if:

  • You are allergic to any ingredient listed on the packaging. Always read the full ingredient list before use
  • Your skin is broken, cut, sunburnt, blistered, infected or inflamed
  • You are undergoing dermatological treatment such as chemical peels, laser, microneedling or prescription retinoids, unless your clinician has confirmed it is fine
  • You are under 18

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or taking medication that affects the skin such as isotretinoin, speak to your doctor or pharmacist before use.

Our overnight wrapping mask forms a film over the skin. If you have very oily or acne prone skin, occlusion can sometimes trap oil and worsen congestion. Introduce it gradually and stop if your skin does not get on with it.

6. How to use safely

  • For external use only. Avoid the eye area, eyelids, lips and nostrils
  • Do not swallow. If swallowed, seek medical advice
  • If the product gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water
  • Keep out of reach of children
  • Store below 25°C, away from direct sunlight and heat
  • Do not use after the expiry date or period after opening symbol shown on the packaging
  • Do not mix with other products in the tube, and do not decant into other containers

7. If your skin reacts

Stop using the product immediately and rinse the area with cool water and a gentle cleanser.

If the reaction is mild, such as slight redness that settles within a few hours, allow your skin to recover and do not reapply.

If you have swelling, severe irritation, blistering, difficulty breathing or any reaction that worsens or does not settle, seek medical attention straight away. In an emergency in the UK call 999, or call NHS 111 for advice.

Please also tell us at info@officialmiso.com, with a photo if you can. We log every report as part of our product safety monitoring and we will refund you in full. Reporting it helps us spot any batch issue quickly, so it genuinely matters.

You can also report a cosmetic product safety concern to your local Trading Standards service.

8. Ingredients and formulation changes

The full ingredient list is printed on every pack and shown on the product page. Manufacturers occasionally reformulate. Always read the pack you receive rather than relying on a list you read previously, especially if you have allergies.

9. Responsibility

We are responsible for supplying products that are safe, of satisfactory quality and as described, and nothing here removes that.

What we cannot take responsibility for is use that goes against this guidance or the instructions on the pack, for example using the product on broken skin, continuing after a reaction, using it on a child, or combining it with treatments your clinician has not approved.

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
